Day-by-Day Programme

Direct Aeroflot flight from Moscow to Hurghada. Transfer to Port Ghalib. Board My Red Sea Explorer, meet the crew, and attend the briefing.

Morning check dive on a coastal reef near Marsa Alam: fine-tune buoyancy, check the gear, get comfortable in the water. Second dive at Elphinstone: a long narrow reef with sheer walls and plateaus at the northern and southern tips, where the current brings in pelagic predators. 2–3 dives on the first day.

In the evening the yacht heads out to open sea — an overnight crossing to Daedalus Reef.

Daedalus Reef — a massive reef formation 180 km south of the Brother Islands. Sheer walls on all sides, a plateau to the south from 28 to 40 m.

First dive at dawn at the northern tip, where hammerhead sharks pass by in the mornings. Then the reef walls: schools of surgeonfish, groupers, and trevallies. 3–4 dives, overnight at anchor by the reef.

We keep diving Daedalus: the southern plateau, where reef sharks are seen, and walls covered in soft corals. 3–4 dives including a night dive — after sunset the reef comes alive in a different way: moray eels, crabs, and shrimp come out to hunt.

After the night dive the yacht weighs anchor and heads south to Rocky Island.

Rocky Island — sheer vertical walls and a jagged profile. Sharks of all kinds, pelagic marine life, and diverse corals. We drift along the walls with the current, peeking into crevices and grottoes. 3–4 dives including a night dive.

In the evening a short crossing to neighbouring Zabargad Island.

Zabargad Island — a mountainous island with a lagoon and surrounding reef. Shipwrecks, great variety of corals and reef fish.

Morning dives on the wrecks off the island, coral gardens of the reef in the afternoon, and a calm night dive in the lagoon in the evening. 3–4 dives. Overnight crossing back north toward the coast.

Two morning dives near the coast — at Elphinstone or in the Abu Dabab area, where green turtles graze on the seagrass beds and a dugong may be spotted.

After lunch — crossing to Port Ghalib, rinsing and drying the gear, farewell dinner with the crew.

Transfer from Port Ghalib to Hurghada. Direct Aeroflot flight to Moscow.
