Work as a tour leader

Tour Leader Club requirements for tour leaders

Tour Leader Club is building the largest global luxury travel agency. The company's clients travel 5–7 times a year and have plenty to compare with. A tour leader leads their group on behalf of the company, and the requirements match that level.

Qualification

  1. 1

PADI Divemaster or an equivalent level in another system.

  2. 2

At least 100 dives in the logbook.

  3. 3

    Experience leading groups.

On the trip

  1. 1

Safety before the itinerary. A briefing before every dive, control of the group underwater and on land. When conditions are wrong, the tour leader makes the call: no diving today.

  2. 2

Composure when things go wrong. A delayed flight or a site closed by weather is resolved on the spot, and the manager learns about it at once.

  3. 3

Attention to everyone. A beginner and a diver with hundreds of dives each get a trip that suits them.

  4. 4

Only what is in the itinerary. The tour leader promises a client only what is in the itinerary and the booking. Changes go through the manager.

  5. 5

Contact with the company. The manager learns about any problem within the hour, not after the return.

Money

  1. 1

Every expense is backed by a receipt.

  2. 2

No money from clients. Cash, transfers to a personal card and extra payments on the spot are excluded. A client pays only the company, through a bank, with a receipt.

  3. 3

Money and terms with partners are handled by the manager.

The company's clients

A Tour Leader Club client is protected by the contract and the company's responsibility. A trip around the company leaves the client without that protection. Therefore:

  1. 1

Client information is a company asset. Client data, travel history and terms of service constitute the company's trade secret. The tour leader is given access to it solely to perform the contract, under the terms of confidentiality and non-competition.

  2. 2

The tour leader leads the group on behalf of the company. Participants are listed in the register the tour leader signs before departure. From that moment, the tour leader's contractual obligations extend to every participant.

  3. 3

The tour leader's own trip goes through the company. If a tour leader organises their own trip and the company's clients want to join it, the tour leader agrees it with the company and books it through Tour Leader Club. Without the company's written consent, such a trip is not permitted.

  4. 4

Never directly. The tour leader does not offer the company's clients trips that bypass it, directly or indirectly, personally or through third parties. A client's initiative does not release the tour leader from this obligation. The obligation applies for the term of the contract and after its termination.

  5. 5

Brought by the tour leader — declared at booking. If the tour leader brought a person themselves, they say so at booking. The contract restrictions do not apply to that person.

Partners

  1. 1

Respect for captains, guides and hotel staff. They have worked with the company for years.

  2. 2

Agreements with partners are made by the company; the tour leader does not change them.

Documents

  1. 1

Before the first trip — a signed contract.

  2. 2

Before every trip — the assignment and the participant register.

  3. 3

Without signatures the trip does not start.

Violations

The requirements are the same for everyone and written into the contract. A violation is grounds for recovery under the contract. Every case is pursued to the end, without exception.
