Kuramathi sits in North Ari Atoll, 56 kilometres west of Velana International Airport. The island stretches almost 1.8 kilometres — the resort calls it one of the largest in the Maldives. A mile-long sandbank runs out into the lagoon from its western end, and a house reef follows the whole shoreline: snorkelling and night dives start straight from the beach.

The resort is run by Versa Hospitality and was renamed Niva Kuramathi in 2026 — many pages of the site and the brochures still carry the old name, Kuramathi Island Resort.

There are 348 villas in eleven categories, from wooden bungalows in the garden to water villas with their own pool. Two-storey beach houses sleep six, and two Honeymoon Pool Villas of 310 m² come with a ten-metre lap pool.

The Kuramathi Dive Club is a PADI/SSI centre using Scubapro gear. Three boat dives a day, night dives on the house reef or on a nearby 40-metre wreck, nitrox, and dive safaris across North Ari. Shark Point is an eight-minute boat ride away. Mantas gather from November to April; green and hawksbill turtles live on the house reef year round.

The island has a medical centre with a resident doctor and the largest hyperbaric chamber in the Maldives.

Dining: three buffet restaurants — Malaafaiy, Haruge and Farivalhu — and nine à la carte: Tandoor Mahal, Palm, Island Coffee Shop, Siam Garden, La Belle Vie, Inguru, The Reef, Island Barbeque and Kobe. There are eight bars, including the Havana Club wine and cigar bar and the Champagne Loft. Three meal plans are offered: full board, All-Inclusive and Dine Around All-Inclusive.

The resort keeps a resident marine biologist, an Eco Centre with a whale skeleton, the Muraka coral regeneration project, hydroponic gardens and a Travelife Gold certificate.

No markup

You pay exactly the rate the resort publishes. On top of that, only the actual bank costs of currency conversion and the international transfer — no commission of ours.

We run the deal

Correspondence with the resort, holding the room, the contract, booking confirmation and all paperwork are on our side. There is nothing for you to arrange yourself.

Card payment

We accept payment by card through Stripe and issue an invoice. The transfer to the resort is our job — you do not have to find a way to pay abroad.

Support all the way

We help you choose the room and dates, work out the dive package, answer questions about flights and gear, and stay in touch until you are home.

The exact amount is confirmed when we hold your booking: it includes the resort's rate at the day's exchange rate plus the actual transfer costs. No hidden fees.

When to go

Getting there

The international airport is Malé (MLE). The island lies 56 kilometres west of it.

Both transfers operate in daylight hours only. For late arrivals the resort arranges a night at a hotel near the airport and brings you over the next day; for early departures you may need to leave the island the day before.
