TL

Embudu Village sits on a small island on the northern edge of South Malé Atoll — you can walk around it in about fifteen minutes. It is 20 minutes by speedboat from Malé airport, making it one of the closest dive resorts to the capital.

The resort keeps things simple: white sand, dense greenery, bungalows under the palms and water villas at the far end of the island. There is none of the five-star polish here, and that is deliberate — the site calls it “Maldivian simplicity”.

What matters for a diver is that the house reef starts 10 to 20 metres off the beach. The nearest site drops to 30 metres and is split into six current-free routes you can enter whenever you like. Beyond that lies the reason people come here: Embudu Express, a short, deep dive in the channel a quarter of an hour from the island, where grey sharks, formations of eagle rays, schools of tuna and barracuda gather in the current. Next to it is Embudu Channel — the same spectacle in a gentler version — and Embudu Thilla, with millions of small fish.

The dive centre on the island is Diverland, a German base that has worked on Embudu since 1986. It has its own dhoni, around forty described sites across North and South Malé, and SSI training from Scuba Diver up to Divemaster.

No markup

You pay exactly the rate the resort publishes. On top of that, only the actual bank costs of currency conversion and the international transfer — no commission of ours.

We run the deal

Correspondence with the resort, holding the room, the contract, booking confirmation and all paperwork are on our side. There is nothing for you to arrange yourself.

Card payment

We accept payment by card through Stripe and issue an invoice. The transfer to the resort is our job — you do not have to find a way to pay abroad.

Support all the way

We help you choose the room and dates, work out the dive package, answer questions about flights and gear, and stay in touch until you are home.

The exact amount is confirmed when we hold your booking: it includes the resort's rate at the day's exchange rate plus the actual transfer costs. No hidden fees.

The Diverland dive centre describes its sites in detail and by number. The closest are Embudu Corner, Embudu Thilla, Embudu Express and Embudu Channel — 13 to 15 minutes out. Further along the Wadoo Channel come walls and caves — The Wall, Wadoo Caves, Canyon, Cathedral, Mystery Caves. Full-day trips run to Kandooma Thila and Kandooma Caves, to the Guraidhoo Channel and to Medhu Faru reef. The manta cleaning station lies off Gulhi. The freighter Victory, 110 metres long, sank in 1981 and lies at 20 to 30 metres — current and depth make it a dive for the experienced. Several sites are marked as unsuitable for beginners and as requiring particular currents.
