Day-by-Day Programme

On April 28 we fly from Moscow to Brisbane — heading for adventure! Upon arrival, our Russian-speaking guide Sergey will meet us, and we'll head straight to Stradbroke Island by ferry. There, the real Australian journey begins: subtropical nature, massive sand dunes, swimming in a brown lake, and breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean from the cliffs.
Stradbroke Island Beach Hotel 3★
The morning starts with dives. Stradbroke is one of the best diving spots in southeast Queensland. Two dives at Shag Rock and Flat Rock: leopard sharks, green turtles, guitarfish, nurse sharks. After diving — a trail to the secluded Blue Lake hidden in greenery, a walk along the northern gorge with views of the endless ocean. Sand dune boarding on golden dunes, spotting wild koalas in eucalyptus trees, wild kangaroos on the island. Dinner of the freshest seafood on the ocean shore, tea by the campfire, sweet lamingtons, and cozy evening under the Southern Hemisphere stars.
Stradbroke Island Beach Hotel 3★
Morning — diving at one of Australia's best dive sites — Manta Point. Giant manta rays glide through crystal-clear water. After the dive — ferry and a sightseeing tour of the Gold Coast: the glittering coastline of skyscrapers and endless beaches. Then — Lamington–Springbrook National Park. The tropical forest welcomes you with humid air, birdsong, and the scent of eucalyptus. A canopy walk, tall cascading waterfalls, breathtaking scenery. And a bit of childlike wonder — swinging on vines in the middle of the jungle.
Mantra Sun City 4★
Morning continues with the Gold Coast: a flock of wild Australian pelicans — the largest pelicans in the world. Then — Springbrook National Park: glow worm cave where the ceiling shimmers like a starry sky, a winery, a walk to a waterfall. Lunch on a hilltop in a cozy tavern overlooking the coast and the sparkling Gold Coast. Transfer to Brisbane — the capital of sunny Queensland. Sightseeing tour with stops at the most beautiful spots, a walk through the city center. Along the way — Mount Coot-tha and the Tsiolkovsky monument (one of only two monuments to Russians in Australia). Lone Pine Sanctuary: koalas, kangaroos, and other local inhabitants.
Great Southern Hotel Brisbane 3.5★
From Brisbane — to the Sunshine Coast. Along the way — an atmospheric themed village of colonial Australia in the early 20th century. On the Sunshine Coast, optionally — an aquarium or a stroll along the promenade of the resort town of Noosa. Possible stop at the legendary Australia Zoo or fun go-kart racing. Then — on to Rainbow Beach. A 3–3.5 hour drive, hotel check-in, and rest.
Rainbow Beach Holiday Park 3★
Morning — diving at the famous Wolf Rock site, one of the best in Australia. Large grey nurse sharks live here — impressive but completely safe for humans. Multiple shark species and mantas can also be seen. Two dives and lunch on the boat. After lunch — climbing a sand dune, walking to a freshwater lake, swimming on a pristine white beach. By evening — transfer to the town of Hervey Bay on the ocean shore.
Ingenia Holidays Hervey Bay 3★
We take jeeps and head to the world's largest sand island — Fraser (UNESCO World Heritage Site). By ferry to the island, spending the whole day exploring: driving along beaches, swimming in freshwater lakes, looking for wild dingoes, and admiring the pristine nature. In the evening, we return to Hervey Bay for a friendly Australian-style barbecue.
Ingenia Holidays Hervey Bay 3★
Morning — to the Town of 1770, where Captain Cook first set foot on this land. A 2–3 hour drive. Cruise to Lady Musgrave Island, in the southern part of the Great Barrier Reef. Pristine waters and living coral reefs rich with marine life. Spectacular scenic diving, island walk. Transfer to the provincial town of Yeppoon on the seaside. Overnight at a hotel near the beach.
Rosslyn Bay Resort 3★
Early morning — cruise to the Great Keppel Islands. Diving in the Great Barrier Reef marine reserve at Egg Rock (protected Zone "B"). The islands are not overly popular with tourists — white-sand beaches remain secluded. 90% of the territory is covered with bushland — dense forests with rare animal and plant species. In crystal-clear waters — rays, sea turtles, schools of tropical fish, and dugongs. After lunch — transfer through Mackay to Airlie Beach, gateway to the Whitsunday archipelago. A 5–6 hour drive with scenic views of real Australia and wild kangaroos on the roadside.
Airlie Beach Hotel 3★
A day on a yacht! The Whitsunday Islands — 36 islands and numerous dive sites. Diving at nearby reefs and relaxation on the famous Whitehaven Beach — dazzlingly white sand, turquoise sea, and an absolute sense of paradise. After returning — transfer to the town of Ayr (2 hours).
Ayr Travellers Motel 3★
From Ayr to Townsville, then by boat to the famous shipwreck Yongala. The ship lies at 30 meters depth in the open ocean. It sank during a hurricane in 1911, and its location remained unknown for 50 years. This site is renowned for large Australian groupers, rays, soft corals covering the ship's hull, and diverse marine life. Two dives on the wreck, barbecue lunch. Transfer to Mission Beach (about 3.5 hours) with stops at stunning waterfalls, including Australia's tallest waterfall. Overnight on the ocean shore — in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef.
Mission Beach Resort 3.5★
Morning — Tully River national park: white-water rafting through the tropical river (optional). In the afternoon — northward to the Atherton Tablelands region, deep into tropical Australia. Along the way — wildlife, cassowaries, waterfalls you can swim in. Evening — dinner at a colorful pub, searching for nocturnal animals, and starry skies over the tropical forest. Overnight in the jungle by a crater lake.
Chambers Rainforest Lodges
Breakfast at a cafe by the crater lake (pay on site). Diving in a highland lake with a professional local guide — 1 dive. We continue exploring the Atherton Tablelands: giant strangler figs, swimming in a crater lake. Cruise on another crater lake, unique giant trees. With luck — a real wild platypus in the river.
Chambers Rainforest Lodges
Morning — walk through a granite gorge, feeding wild wallabies. Barron Falls — a stunning multi-tiered cascade waterfall over 125 meters high. The village of Kuranda: Aboriginal show with dancing, boomerang and spear throwing, amphibious vehicle ride through the jungle. Cable car ride above the tropical forest canopy. Check-in to a hotel on the scenic Palm Cove beach. Evening stroll along the beach.
Sarayi Boutique Hotel 4★ / Mantra Amphora Hotel 4★
North of Cairns along wild Coral Sea beaches — we'll spot crocodiles. Mossman Gorge in the Daintree conservation area (UNESCO), with optional swimming in a mountain river. The town of Port Douglas and an express cruise to the distant outer Opal Reef on a speedboat (snorkeling, 4 hours). The boat is exclusive to our group. Farewell dinner at an exclusive hilltop restaurant with ocean views (pay on site). Overnight at a hotel near Palm Cove beach.
Sarayi Boutique Hotel 4★
Morning — transfer to Cairns Airport and the journey home to Moscow.

Useful Information

Climate
Australia enjoys sunshine year-round, and Queensland, where our route takes us, is the country's warmest state. Even in winter, swimming is comfortable: water temperature stays around 24 °C, rising to 28–30 °C in summer. Air temperature is consistently warm — from 25 °C in winter to 33 °C in summer, with humidity lower than in Asian tropics, making the heat easy to handle. Rain is possible during summer months (December–March), but usually brief and refreshing.

Location
The route follows Australia's east coast — from Brisbane to Cairns, along the Pacific Ocean and the famous Great Barrier Reef. Here modern cities, scenic beaches, tropical forests, and UNESCO-listed nature parks harmoniously coexist. Along the way — Stradbroke and Fraser Islands, Lamington and Springbrook National Parks, the Whitsunday archipelago, and Airlie Beach.

Diving Conditions
Along the Queensland coast lie some of the planet's best dive sites — from Manta Point and Wolf Rock to the legendary Yongala wreck. Depths range from 5 to 30 meters, currents are mild, and conditions are comfortable and safe even for beginner divers. Visibility averages 20 to 40 meters, especially in the dry season. Local fauna is impressive: mantas, sea turtles, leopard sharks, coral gardens, giant groupers, and schools of tropical fish.

Visa
Travel to Australia requires a Visitor Visa (Subclass 600), Tourist Stream — the standard tourist visa. Issued for up to three months.

Time
7 hours ahead of Moscow.

Safety
Australia is one of the safest countries in the world. It's clean, calm, and friendly. The only thing to watch out for is the sun and nature: use sunscreen, wear a hat, and don't touch unfamiliar animals. Tap water is safe, but bottled water is more convenient on the road.
