Sawasdee Fasai is a 36.8-metre steel vessel, purpose-built for diving in 2004 and fully refitted in 2016. Fifteen air-conditioned cabins take up to 30 guests. The boat works the Andaman Sea from mid-October to mid-May: the Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and Richelieu Rock — the best chain of dive sites in Thailand on a single route.
A trip runs four nights and includes 14 dives. Departure is from Tab Lamu Pier in Khao Lak, with free transfers from Phuket and the surrounding area — a minibus collects you from your hotel in the afternoon and brings you back the day after the final dive.
The dive deck is generous: 60 aluminium tanks in 8, 12 and 15 litres with both Yoke and DIN valves, a shaded kitting-up area, rinse hoses, a camera table and charging stations. A nitrox membrane unit is installed on board and nitrox is available to certified divers. Diving is run from two inflatable tenders, and the dive station is covered by CCTV.
Inside there is an air-conditioned saloon with a TV, a library and a computer, a bar and an open-air dining area. The sun deck measures 6 × 15 metres, with a further 6.5 × 10 metres of shaded lounging with mats and sun beds. The interior is finished in wood in Thai style.
Cabins are twin-share. Eleven have a private bathroom with a hot shower; the four budget cabins use shared shower rooms. Every cabin has adjustable air conditioning, a safe, a hair dryer, towels and life jackets.
No mark-up
You pay the rate the operator publishes. The only thing added on top is the actual payment processing cost — no fee of ours.

Similans, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and Richelieu Rock
The vessel's only route and the finest chain of dive sites in Thailand. You leave Tab Lamu Pier in the evening for four nights at sea and 14 dives. Day one covers the Similan Islands: the granite mazes of Elephant Head Rock, West of Eden and Princess Bay, with a sunset or night dive at Turtle Rock. Day two takes in Three Trees in the Similans, then the west and north ridges of Koh Bon and, in the evening, the current-swept pinnacle at Koh Tachai. Day three is given over entirely to Richelieu Rock, a limestone outcrop in open water that draws whale sharks and ranks among the best macro photography sites in Asia. Day four returns to Koh Tachai and the south bay of Koh Bon, where mantas are seen, before heading back to Tab Lamu. Suitable from Open Water with some experience; Advanced is advisable for Koh Tachai and Richelieu Rock. Season runs from mid-October to mid-May.
