Day-by-Day Programme

Departure from Moscow (Domodedovo Airport) to Dubai on flight EK 132 at 23:30.

Arrival in Dubai at 06:15, connection to Johannesburg flight EK 763, 10:10–16:35. Met at the airport by a guide, transfer to hotel. Dinner at the traditional Carnivore restaurant — one of the most popular and renowned restaurants in all of South Africa (dinner is included; drinks are extra).

Misty Hills Hotel 4★

Drive (5 hours) to the tiny enclave state of Lesotho, surrounded entirely by South African territory. Visit to the ethnic village of Thaba-Bosiu. The settlement's main attraction is the remarkable mountain of the same name — here you can explore the ruins of the legendary citadel and the burial sites of King Moshoeshoe I, as well as enjoy plateau views worthy of the Swiss Alps. Onward drive to Maseru — the capital of Lesotho. Check-in and dinner (AVANI Restaurant, payable separately).

After breakfast, a sightseeing tour of Maseru. The city's name comes from the Sesotho language, where maseru means 'place of red sandstones', reflecting the local soil. The city retains the Catholic Cathedral of St. Victoria, the Anglican Church of St. John, and a souvenir shop built in the shape of the traditional mokorotlo hat. Drive (2 hours) to the settlement of Semonkong — an area revealing the historical way of life of the Basuto (mountain nation), known for wearing colourful blankets as clothing and straw hats. The name 'Semonkong' translates as 'place of smoke'. After lunch — trekking to Maletsunyane Falls, where the river rushes through bright-green pastures before plunging off the cliffs into a beautiful waterfall. Droplets scatter, forming clouds of mist visible from afar.

After breakfast, drive (4 hours) to Clarens — a mecca for creative people in South Africa! Communities of artists have settled in historic sandstone buildings against a mountain-range backdrop. The picturesque townscape and many art galleries, antique shops and cosy restaurants have earned Clarens widespread popularity. Then a drive to Golden Gate Highlands National Park — the true gem of the Free State. Vast colourful sandstone formations glow golden-yellow in the evening sun, giving the area its name. Vegetation consists mainly of wooded ravines and grasslands.

Breakfast and drive to Eswatini (6 hours). Eswatini is an absolute monarchy where many unchanged traditions dating back hundreds of years have been preserved. Upon arrival — visit to the famous Ngwenya Glass Factory and a sightseeing tour of Mbabane. Check-in at a hotel in the Ezulwini Valley, home to the Queen Mother's residence, parliament and the King Sobhuza II Memorial Complex.

After breakfast — Swazi Candle Market and Mantenga Cultural Village with songs and dances (11:30–13:00). After lunch — drive to Hlane Royal National Park and an evening safari.

Morning walking safari to rhinos in Hlane Reserve. Breakfast and drive to Kruger Park in South Africa (4 hours). Evening safari in Kruger Park. Kruger National Park is the largest in South Africa. It is home to 53 fish species, 118 reptile species, 151 mammal species, 507 bird species, 2,000 plant species and over 50,000 insect species. A qualified ranger will tell you about African flora and fauna and do everything possible to show the famous Big Five — elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard — in their natural habitat. Dinner is included.
