Day-by-Day Programme

The group flies from Moscow to Jakarta; travellers joining from elsewhere fly to Jakarta or directly to Sorong to meet it.

Arrival in Jakarta and connection to Sorong.

Arrival in Sorong, meet at the airport and transfer to the boat, 20–30 minutes. Check-in, briefing, gear setup. Guests who arrive before noon can make a check dive at Red Light District (Lampu Merah) near Sorong. Departure at 13:00 and an overnight crossing south to Misool.

Blue Manta — cabin of the chosen category

The first day in Misool, around the Daram and Boo islands. Coral gardens, soft corals and sea fans, moderate currents. A good day to settle into the water and the boat before the more demanding sites.

Dives around Warakaraket and Fiabacet, on the best reefs of Misool. We also look for manta rays: they come to cleaning stations where small fish pick parasites off them.

Accommodation

Blue Manta is a 46-metre steel boat that takes divers around eastern Indonesia year-round. Beam 10 m, displacement about 580 tonnes, service speed 10 knots.

14 cabins of about 20 sq m — very spacious for a liveaboard. Each has its own bathroom and individually controlled air conditioning. The upper deck has six cabins with windows: C1–C4 with a 1.8 × 2.0 m double bed, C5–C6 with two singles. The main deck has four cabins with windows: C7–C8 twin, C9–C10 with a 1.5 m bed plus a single. The lower deck has four twin cabins with portholes (C11–C14).

Crew of 20, including five dive guides and a trip leader with an instructor rating. Five meals a day: light breakfast before the first dive, full breakfast after, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner. For photographers — an air-conditioned camera room and rinse tanks. On board: massage, laundry, Starlink (paid) and a satellite phone.

Depart Moscow on 26 February, connect in Jakarta on 27 February, arrive in Sorong in the morning of 28 February. Guests arriving before noon can join the check dive.

Sorong — Jakarta — Moscow
Depart on 7 March after disembarking (5:00 to 10:00). The last dive is around noon on 6 March, leaving more than 18 hours before the flight.

Useful Information

Climate
Equatorial, warm all year. Late February and early March is a good season for the south of the archipelago: the sea is usually calm, with short tropical showers possible. Air +27–32°C, water +28–30°C. Visibility 10–30 m: Misool is rich in plankton, which brings in the mantas.

Location
The Raja Ampat archipelago is in Southwest Papua province, Indonesia. Over 1,500 islands, reefs and shoals across more than 50,000 sq km — the heart of the Coral Triangle. Route: Sorong → Misool (Daram, Boo, Fiabacet, Wayil) → Piaynemo → Dampier Strait → Sorong.

Visa
Russian passport holders: visa on arrival or electronic e-VOA, about $35. Passport valid for at least 6 months. Other nationalities should check the entry rules for their passport.

Important
The route may change due to weather and sea conditions. Raja Ampat is a marine park: do not touch the corals. Some sites have currents, so experience with current diving helps. The last dive must be at least 18 hours before the flight.
