Day-by-Day Programme

Evening flight from Moscow to Irkutsk.
Arrival in Irkutsk, airport pick-up. Transfer (approx. 1.5 hours) to Listvyanka village. Board the catamaran and meet the crew. Crossing to Sandy Bay — one of the most beautiful spots on Baikal. A magnificent beach of fine pale sand stretches in a crescent between the Big and Small Bell cliffs. Here grow the famous stilt trees — giant larches and pines whose roots were exposed by centuries of wind. Walks, beach time, overnight in the bay.
Departure from Sandy Bay. Crossing to Cape Krestovsky and the marble cliff of Sagan-Zaba — one of the most beautiful sites on the western shore. The cliff is famous for its ancient petroglyphs: dancing shamans, running deer and swans. We then pass through the Olkhon Gate strait and anchor in Kurkut Bay — one of the warmest bays of the Small Sea, where water reaches +20°C.
A full day on Olkhon — the largest island on Baikal and the sacred centre of the shamanic world. We visit the Buddhist Stupa of Enlightenment on Ogoy Island, then head to Cape Burkhan — the legendary Shaman Rock, one of the nine holy sites of Asia and Baikal's most iconic landmark. We stroll through Khuzhir village and along the splendid pine-fringed Sarayskiy Beach. Overnight at Cape Khoboy — the island's northernmost point, where endless Baikal waters meet the sky.
Crossing to the eastern shore of Olkhon. We visit the village of Uzury, home to one of Baikal's oldest weather stations — staffed by a single family. On to Cape Izhimey with sacred Mount Zhima, said to be the dwelling place of spirits. Overnight at Cape Ukhan — a secluded spot accessible only by water. Fishing and an unforgettable campfire evening.
Departure from Olkhon. Stop at Cape Kadilny — site of caves with Neolithic-era human settlements. The slopes are covered with fields of alpine edelweiss. Campfire on the shore, dinner and a night under the stars.
Morning return to Listvyanka port. Free time — visit the seal aquarium, the fish and souvenir market, or the Baikal Museum with its virtual deep-lake dive. Optional dives near Listvyanka and Bolshiye Koty: underwater cliffs draped in branching sponges, amphipods, endemic sculpin fish and Baikal grayling. Transfer to the airport, flight to Moscow.
