The resort has been on Roatan for more than fifty years and is laid out unusually: reception, restaurant, dive centre and some of the rooms sit on the main island, while the bungalows over the water stand on its own key seventy metres offshore. A free taxi boat crosses between them all day and evening, and the crossing quickly becomes part of the holiday.

There are no televisions and no telephones in the bungalows, on purpose. There is Wi-Fi, there is a hammock on the deck, there is the sound of water under the floor — and the list of distractions ends there. Mornings start with a dive; days end with the sunset from the Frangipani bar on the hill.

Next door is the Mesoamerican Reef, the second-largest barrier reef in the world. Thirty-five dive sites lie five to thirty minutes away: walls, coral gardens, two large wrecks and a site on the island’s south side where Caribbean reef sharks gather. The dive centre runs eleven boats of its own and holds PADI 5 Star status, and a medical clinic and hyperbaric chamber operate on the property — rare even for large resorts.

The other thing that defines the place is the dolphins. The Roatan Institute for Marine Sciences works here: bottlenose dolphins live in a natural sea lagoon off Bailey’s Key, and guests choose anything from a half-hour waist-deep meeting to a two-day course in dolphin behaviour and physiology.

Everything is sold as packages. The base package covers the bungalow, the transfer, three meals a day, the pool, kayaks and paddleboards; diving, snorkelling or a honeymoon add-on goes on top. Stays of seven nights or more also include Island Fiesta night with live music and Garifuna dancers, and a day on the private island of Maya Key.

No markup

You pay exactly the rate the resort publishes. On top of that, only the actual bank costs of currency conversion and the international transfer — no commission of ours.

We run the deal

Correspondence with the resort, holding the room, the contract, booking confirmation and all paperwork are on our side. There is nothing for you to arrange yourself.

Card payment

We accept payment by card through Stripe and issue an invoice. The transfer to the resort is our job — you do not have to find a way to pay abroad.

Boats leave at 8:30, 10:30 and 14:30 and return to the dock between trips — the 45-minute surface interval is spent ashore. The shark dive runs once a week and needs 8 to 15 divers; sign up at the dive shop. Visibility is usually 20–25 metres. The island's north side lies in a marine park and holds noticeably more fish. The Cornerstone Medical Services chamber operates on the property and belongs to the DAN network; the resort suggests a voluntary $12 weekly donation from divers to keep it running.

The restaurant is closed on Wednesday evenings — that is Island Fiesta night on the key, with a buffet, live music and Garifuna dancers. Every drink beyond the morning coffee, milk and juice is charged separately. Outside alcohol is not allowed; wine and champagne are the exception, with a $20 corkage fee per bottle. Diets and allergies should be flagged before arrival.

The dolphins live in a sea lagoon off Bailey's Key under the care of the Roatan Institute for Marine Sciences. Several formats are offered — a waist-deep encounter from age three, a swim and snorkel from eight, an active swim with a dorsal ride from five. The resort does not publish prices for the dolphin programmes or the island trips; they are quoted at booking. Once a week everyone is taken to Maya Key: two beaches, a 265,000-litre pool, gardens and a sanctuary for rescued monkeys, birds and wild cats.

Bungalows on the hillside of the main island, tucked into greenery. Cooler thanks to the breeze, quieter thanks to the distance, with sunsets and coastline in view. They stand in clusters of four sharing a deck or porch. It is roughly sixty steps up from the dock.

The water is warmest in June and drops to about 26 °C by late December. The rainy season runs October to February but rarely interferes with diving. High season on the rate card is 3 January – 15 August and 19 December – 2 January; everything else is roughly 15% cheaper. The island's north side is a marine park and holds more fish. Outlets are US-style, 110 V; the resort's tap water is safe to drink.

Getting there

Fly into Roatan’s international airport, RTB. Direct flights come from Miami, Atlanta, Houston and Dallas; from Europe you connect through the US, Mexico City or San Salvador.

The drive from the airport takes 15–30 minutes and the round-trip transfer is in the package — you are met in arrivals.

A passport valid for at least six months beyond your return date is required; check visa rules with a Honduran consulate for your nationality.

Reception and most of the resort sit on the main island. The bungalows on the key are a minute away by taxi boat, which runs on demand all day and evening.

Check-in is from 15:00, check-out by 11:00. Visa, MasterCard and American Express are accepted; US dollars are used everywhere.
