Scubaspa Yang is a 50-metre yacht built in 2014 specifically for diving and working the Maldives year-round. She has a twin, Scubaspa Ying: same hull, same layout, same programme. Seventeen cabins on two guest decks take up to 36 people, of whom no more than 26 go underwater — the remaining berths go to guests who come for the spa, the snorkelling and the yoga.
What sets her apart from an ordinary dive liveaboard is a 300 m² spa with four treatment rooms, one of them a double for couples. Add a gym, a jacuzzi and an open-air cinema. The crew-to-guest ratio is close to 1:1, so treatments, dives and island visits can be scheduled without anyone queueing.
Diving runs off a dedicated 20-metre dhoni carrying the compressors, a nitrox filling station, rinse tanks and an individual station for each set of gear — nobody assembles a regulator on the yacht’s deck. The operation is a PADI 5 Star Dive Resort: courses run from a first breath underwater to advanced levels, and non-divers can take a try-dive.
Cabins come in five categories. Eight suites on the main deck look out through three-metre panoramic windows set directly into the hull — there is no walkway outside, so nothing crosses the view. Nine more cabins sit on the lower deck with portholes.
The year-round itinerary is Best of Maldives: the Malé atolls, Ari, Rasdhoo and Vaavu. In February and March the yacht heads for the deep south and the equator — a route for experienced divers, with strong currents.

You pay the rate the operator publishes. The only thing added on top is the actual payment processing cost — no fee of ours.

Best of Maldives (Malé — Malé)
The yacht's year-round route: North and South Malé, Ari, Rasdhoo and Vaavu. Manta cleaning stations, night dives with nurse sharks, current-swept channels full of grey reef sharks, and whale sharks off South Ari from May to November. Round trip from Malé, and it works for experienced divers and first-time liveaboard guests alike. Some dates are announced as themed weeks — Love Whale Sharks Week in November, Christmas and New Year's Eve cruises at the end of December.

The winter-to-spring route across the equator: a crossing from Malé to Kooddoo, then a shuttle between Kooddoo and Gan in Addu Atoll, and the passage back north. The Huvadhoo and Addu channels bring hammerheads, grey reef sharks, mantas and big pelagic schools. Currents are strong and drift experience is required. Domestic flights connect to the start and end points.
