Black Manta is a 42-metre Maldivian liveaboard run by the French operator DUNE and launched in 2024. She is one of the newest vessels in the Maldives and was built for diving from the start: a dedicated dive dhoni, a roomy dive deck, rinse hoses, a separate rinse for underwater cameras and charging stations.

Fifteen cabins across three decks take up to 28 guests, six of them with panoramic ocean windows. Every cabin has its own bathroom and individually adjustable air conditioning. Two cabins are single occupancy with a double bed — a rarity in the Maldives, and it means solo travellers are not charged for a second berth.

The top deck has a jacuzzi facing the sunset, a lounger area and a two-bed massage room. Inside there is a spacious air-conditioned saloon, a library, a bar and a restaurant with al fresco dining. Wi-Fi is free, and so are soft drinks. The kitchen works with fresh local produce, with vegetarian and vegan options and a barbecue on a deserted island.

Nitrox is free for certified divers and sidemount is supported. Night dives, kayaks, paddleboards and island visits are included in the price. The crew speaks English, German, French, Chinese and Spanish.

No mark-up

You pay the rate the operator publishes. The only thing added on top is the actual payment processing cost — no fee of ours.

We run the booking

Correspondence with the operator, holding your places, the contract, confirmation and all paperwork sit on our side. Nothing for you to arrange yourself.

Pay by card

We send you a Stripe invoice — pay by card, in your own currency, from anywhere in the world. The transfer to the operator is handled on our side.

Support in your language

We help you pick the cabin and dates, answer questions on the route and gear, and stay reachable until you are home — in English, in your time zone.

We quote the exact amount when confirming the booking: it covers the operator's rate plus the actual payment processing cost. No hidden charges.

Deep South — all the way to the equator

Ten nights from Male to Gan (or back) across the whole archipelago, in the winter season. The passage crosses the equator, taking in the big channels of the far south and reefs that week-long itineraries cannot reach. Confident current-diving experience required.

South — all about sharks

A week between Gan and Kooddoo in Addu and Huvadhoo atolls, January to March. Sharks are the point: grey reef, hammerhead and tiger, plus large mantas. Currents are strong — a route for experienced divers.
