Sachika is a 33-metre Maldivian yacht built in 2007 and custom-designed for diving. Three decks, ten cabins for 22 guests and a crew almost as large as the guest list. The National Boating Association of the Maldives has named her the country’s best dive safari three times over — she is run by an Italian team, which shows in the food, the order on board and the relaxed atmosphere.
Diving runs off a dedicated 19-metre dhoni that trails the yacht. Tanks and the compressor live there too, so the yacht itself stays quiet and gear never has to be reassembled — it stays set up on the dhoni between dives. Nitrox is included for certified divers, and the dive deck has a shaded kitting-up area, DIN adaptors and a separate rinse tank for underwater cameras.
The air-conditioned restaurant on the main deck serves buffet-style Italian and Maldivian cooking, with vegetarian and vegan options. The captain’s deck holds a panoramic lounge bar with rattan furniture and a view over the water; above it, a sun deck with loungers and a jacuzzi. A separate seating area sits forward on the main deck.
Every cabin has individually controlled air conditioning, an en-suite bathroom with a shower cabin and a mini-bar. Non-divers get a full programme of their own: snorkelling, fishing, kayaks, a stand-up paddleboard and island visits.
No mark-up
You pay the rate the operator publishes. The only thing added on top is the actual payment processing cost — no fee of ours.

Pay by card

Tanks and the compressor are kept on the trailing dhoni, so the yacht stays quiet and gear stays assembled between dives. The crew speaks English and Italian. Rental equipment is available — state your needs on the booking form and pay on board.
Food and drinks

The vessel's core route, year round: North and South Male, Rasdhoo and Ari. Classic Maldives — manta cleaning stations, night dives with rays and whale sharks, current-swept channels where grey reef sharks and Napoleon wrasse gather. Suitable from Open Water with some drift experience.

Nine nights in the far south for experienced divers. Fuvahmulah is one of the few places in the world where tiger sharks are seen year round; Addu and Huvadhoo bring hammerheads, grey reef sharks, mantas and the wreck of the British tanker British Loyalty. Currents are strong and solid drift-diving experience is required. The trip starts and ends at Addu, reached by a domestic flight from Male.

The longest route on the schedule — twelve nights and a crossing of the equator. The way runs through North and South Male, Felidhoo, Vattaru, Meemu, Thaa, Laamu, Huvadhoo, Fuvahmulah and Addu: ten atolls, from the classic channels of the centre to the tiger sharks of the south. The March departure runs north to south, the April one comes back from Gan to Male. A domestic flight one way is required.
