MY Ghazala Adventure is a steel-hulled Red Sea liveaboard, 43 metres long and 9.5 wide, launched in 2024. She is one of two vessels operated by the Egyptian company Ocean Tribe Fleet; the other, Ghazala Explorer, is a related but different ship with a different interior. There are 14 guest cabins and 26 berths on board; crew and dive guides live separately.
The layout is easy to read off the deck plan. Seven cabins sit on the lower deck: five twins, a single-occupancy suite and a suite with a double bed, all with portholes near the waterline. Seven more are on the upper deck: four twins and a single-occupancy suite with proper sea-view windows, plus two convertible suites right forward, with wrap-around glazing, a sofa and a bed that makes up as a double or splits into two singles. Every single cabin has its own bathroom with a hot shower, individually controlled air conditioning, towels and dressing gowns; there are sixteen bathrooms in total — fourteen en-suite and two shared.
The boat was purpose-built for diving. The dive deck is shaded, every guest gets a dedicated tank station and a box for gear, and there are rinse hoses, DIN adaptors and a charging station for cameras and computers in the common area. Since February 2026 an Egyptian maritime inspection order has removed sockets from guest cabins across the local fleet, so this is where electronics get charged — worth planning for if you travel with a camera and spare batteries. Two Bauer 320 L compressors keep the tanks filled, nitrox is free for certified divers, and rebreathers and sidemount are supported. Dives run both off the stern platform and from two RIB tenders, which is what makes offshore reefs such as Daedalus possible. 12 L tanks, weights and a belt are included; 15 L tanks cost extra. A week gives up to twenty dives, with two or three guides looking after the group.
Inside there is an air-conditioned saloon with large sofas, a dining area, a bar, a library, a multimedia system and a small shop. Outside, two decks are given over to relaxing: a sun deck with loungers, a hammock and shade sails, and an open observation deck. Wi-Fi is free, but with a shared 40 GB allowance for all guests on the trip and only where there is coverage. Smoking is allowed only in designated spots on the open decks.
Ghazala Adventure covers the whole Egyptian Red Sea: the northern wrecks and reefs, Tiran and Dahab, Safaga with the Salem Express, the Brothers, Daedalus and Elphinstone, and in the south Rocky, Zabargad and St John’s. Trips are seven nights, starting from Hurghada or Port Ghalib, with some runs going one way between the two. One important difference from most Egyptian vessels: marine park fees, port fees, taxes and fuel are already in the fare — nothing is collected on board except what you order yourself.

Diving on board
Experience requirements differ by itinerary and must be checked before booking. The northern routes (North: Wrecks & Reefs, North & Brothers, North Including Tiran & Dahab, North & Safaga) are open to divers from roughly 20 logged dives. For Brothers — Daedalus — Elphinstone and the southern Daedalus, Rocky & St John's the operator recommends Advanced Open Water or the Deep Diver speciality — both courses can be taken on board — and the booking system asks for 50 logged dives on the southern route. The North & Brothers wreck special calls for Advanced Open Water and at least 25 logged dives. For southern programmes the operator strongly recommends no fewer than 30 logged dives, with the most recent one no older than six months. Bring your certification card and logbook: they are checked and shown to the port authorities. A medical statement is filled in before the first dive, and any "yes" answer means a doctor's fitness-to-dive certificate is required. Guides may keep a diver off a particular dive or change the route if the group's level calls for it. Night diving is prohibited at the marine park islands. The last dive of the trip is around midday the day before departure, so that a full 24 hours pass before flying.
Food and drinks
Alcohol is not included and is sold separately on board. Allergies and special dietary requirements must be given in advance — most of them are taken into account when the trip is provisioned.

North: Wrecks & Reefs
The boat's most frequent route and the least demanding on experience. The SS Thistlegorm — a British transport sunk in 1941 with a cargo of motorcycles, trucks and munitions, a living museum of the war that is worth diving twice. Abu Nuhas with the Giannis D and Carnatic grown into the reef. The reefs of the Straits of Tiran — Jackson, Woodhouse and Thomas — with sheer drop-offs and current, against the backdrop of the Sinai mountains. Little Gubal, where the water is calm and turtles, dolphins and good macro are the reward. And Ras Mohammed National Park with Shark and Yolanda reefs and their dense schooling fish. Northern classics plus a run out to the Brothers Islands. Big and Little Brother stand alone in the middle of the sea, swept by nutrient-rich current, and this brings oceanic whitetips, threshers and hammerheads, with manta rays in season. The walls are draped in soft corals, with barracuda, tuna and jacks along them; on Big Brother's reef lies the Numidia, sunk in 1901 and still largely intact. The second half of the week covers the Thistlegorm, the Abu Nuhas wrecks, Little Gubal and Ras Mohammed. Round trip from Hurghada.

The headline route for experienced divers and the second most frequent in the schedule. Four locations: the Brothers Islands with their walls and the Numidia and Aida wrecks; the remote offshore seamount of Daedalus, which draws schooling hammerheads and, in the warmer months, manta rays; Elphinstone with sheer drop-offs and a good chance of oceanic whitetips in autumn; and calm Abu Dabab with coral gardens and a canyon swim-through — a deliberate contrast to the three offshore sites. The operator recommends Advanced Open Water or the Deep Diver speciality; both courses can be taken on board. Some departures run one way between Hurghada and Port Ghalib.

Daedalus with its lighthouse, sheer walls and schooling hammerheads; Rocky, a small island open to the current, its walls covered in coral trees and pelagics cruising the blue; Zabargad with jagged peaks above water and coral gardens below. Then Fury Shoals with caves and tunnels, Marsa Shouna — known as Turtle Bay — and Elphinstone. The operator recommends Advanced Open Water or Deep Diver, and the booking system asks for 50 logged dives. Some departures run one way between Hurghada and Port Ghalib.

Further north, the Thistlegorm, the Abu Nuhas system with the Giannis D and Chrisoula K, and the reefs and wrecks around Gubal Island. Further south, the sheer wall of Panorama Reef and the offshore bank of Abu Kifan, both facing the blue with a chance of pelagics, and then the Salem Express, a site divers tend to talk about more quietly.
