Blue Horizon is the flagship of the Master Liveaboards fleet in Egypt and one of the most decorated vessels in the Red Sea — ‘Best Liveaboard’ in the Sport Diver awards and ‘Liveaboard of the Year’ from DIVER magazine. Built in 2006, updated in 2016 and fully refitted in 2024.
Forty-one metres of wooden hull, 26 guests in 13 cabins. The lower deck holds nine Classic cabins — four with two single beds and five with a small queen plus a single — while the mid deck has four roomy Premium cabins with a king-size bed. Every cabin is en-suite, with a hot-water shower, individually controlled air-conditioning, a mini-fridge and a lockable safe.
There is a separate air-conditioned sky lounge with a bar and a large entertainment system, a restaurant with panoramic windows, a shaded lounge deck, a sun deck with loungers and a hot tub, and sun mats on the bow. The dive deck is spacious and shaded, with individual kitting-up stations, separate rinse tanks for camera gear, charging points and two tenders to run divers to the sites.
In a single week the boat can cover Tiran and Ras Mohammed with the SS Thistlegorm, the offshore walls of the Brothers, Daedalus and Elphinstone, and in summer it heads south to Rocky, Zabargad and St. John’s. A nitrox membrane system is on board, and rebreather and technical diving are supported by prior arrangement.
Please note: since February 2026, under Egyptian Maritime Inspections Office rules, power sockets and USB ports have been removed from all guest cabins. Charging is only possible in the communal areas, where the crew provides multi-socket extensions for European and UK plugs.

Diving
The northern itineraries (Northern Red Sea Wrecks & Reefs, Strait of Tiran & North) are open to Open Water divers with 10 logged dives, but CDWS rules allow the SS Thistlegorm only from 20 logged dives. Every other itinerary — Red Sea Wrecks, Northern Red Sea & Brothers, Brothers, Daedalus & Elphinstone, Daedalus & St. John's, Rocky, Zabargad & St. Johns and the 10-night Ultimate Red Sea — requires Open Water plus a minimum of 30 logged dives. Valid insurance covering diving, emergency evacuation and recompression treatment is mandatory under the operator's terms. Before the first dive everyone completes the CDWS medical statement; a 'yes' to any question means a doctor's certificate no more than a year old is required. Under CDWS rules the maximum depth for recreational diving is set by the diver's certification and never exceeds 40 m; technical diving is capped at 100 m. Diving without a computer is not allowed. Night dives are prohibited in the Brothers, Daedalus, Rocky and Zabargad marine parks and at Elphinstone. Pointer sticks, fishing and any contact with the reef are forbidden.
Food & drinks
Tell the operator about any dietary requirements when booking. Gluten-free, low-fat and soya products are hard to source in the Red Sea, so bring your own if the restriction is strict. The crew will not let anyone dive after drinking alcohol.
