Uepi Island Resort occupies Uepi Island on the outer edge of Marovo Lagoon in the Western Province of the Solomon Islands. The island sits exactly on the boundary between calm lagoon and open ocean: shallows and rainforest on one side, a wall dropping into the depths of New Georgia Sound on the other.

The resort is run by the Kelly family, who have lived on the island for more than forty years, now into a third generation, with a team of over fifty local staff. They handle bookings directly from Australia and take on the entire journey, Solomon Airlines flights and the lagoon boat transfer included.

Accommodation is six beach houses between forest and water, in what the resort calls island-luxe: locally sourced hardwood timbers, traditional Solomon Island architecture, light and spacious rooms. Each house is named after a marine species and stands in its own private yard with a traditional Leaf House, a stand-up paddleboard, a kayak, lounge chairs and hammocks — steps from the water.

The marine area around the island has been protected for more than thirty years. There are over twenty dive sites, most within a ten-minute boat ride, and the house reef starts right off the dive jetty.

No markup

You pay exactly the rate the resort publishes. On top of that, only the actual bank costs of currency conversion and the international transfer — no commission of ours.

We run the deal

Correspondence with the resort, holding the room, the contract, booking confirmation and all paperwork are on our side. There is nothing for you to arrange yourself.

Card payment

We accept payment by card through Stripe and issue an invoice. The transfer to the resort is our job — you do not have to find a way to pay abroad.

Support all the way

We help you choose the room and dates, work out the dive package, answer questions about flights and gear, and stay in touch until you are home.

The exact amount is confirmed when we hold your booking: it includes the resort's rate at the day's exchange rate plus the actual transfer costs. No hidden fees.

The resort builds its case on diversity and year-round consistency, from delicate coral gardens to pelagic point dives. Regular encounters include mantas, dolphins, schools of tuna, turtles, rays and the occasional dugong. Sites are close, so there is time to unwind between outings; the boat rides themselves are described as part of the adventure, with dolphins and tuna along the way. A long-standing classic is the full-day Bapita trip: the vertically perched Taiyo fishing boat wreck, the Bapita sinkhole and sunken WWII planes at the end of the Seghe airstrip. The site publishes no dive prices and no information on nitrox, equipment rental or courses.

Getting there

Uepi is an island on the outer edge of Marovo Lagoon in the Western Province of the Solomon Islands. The journey comes in three parts.

First an international flight to the Solomon Islands. Then a small plane to Seghe, the nearest airstrip. At Seghe the resort boat meets you and runs across Marovo Lagoon to the island jetty.

The resort takes on the logistics end to end: Solomon Airlines flights, connections and transfers are booked as one package from Australia.

The length of the lagoon crossing and the cost of the transfer are not published — both are confirmed on enquiry.
