Siladen Resort & Spa is an intimate dive resort on Pulau Siladen, in the heart of Bunaken National Marine Park in northern Sulawesi. It opened in 2003. The beach runs six hundred metres of white sand, a fringing reef starts right off it, and on the horizon stands Manado Tua — the volcano the sun drops behind every evening.
The resort began when the Marianelli family from Italy bought land here for the older generation to retire to, then realised the island could be something more. Since 2015 it has been run by Ana and Miguel Ribeiro together with Ray Rorimpandey, owner of the well-known Lembeh Resort.
Twenty-three villas stand along the beach and through the tropical garden — timber-built, with open-air bathrooms under the sky, four-poster beds and private terraces. The three beachfront Luxury Villas also have a private sea-water plunge pool.
At the centre of the grounds are a freeform saltwater pool, a covered restaurant overlooking the beach, a lounge bar and the Tree House: an open deck built high among the trees by the carpenters of Woloan village. Free yoga classes and marine-life talks are held there. The spa runs until half past nine in the evening, with aromatherapy oils blended in Bali.
All diving is from boats — the currents along the walls make shore entries unsafe. Two dives in the morning, one in the afternoon, night and blackwater dives on request. A maximum of four divers per guide, with a private guide and private boat available.
No markup
You pay exactly the rate the resort publishes. On top of that, only the actual bank costs of currency conversion and the international transfer — no commission of ours.
We run the deal
Correspondence with the resort, holding the room, the contract, booking confirmation and all paperwork are on our side. There is nothing for you to arrange yourself.
Card payment
We accept payment by card through Stripe and issue an invoice. The transfer to the resort is our job — you do not have to find a way to pay abroad.

At the resort
Diving
Bunaken means sheer walls dropping into the blue: Lekuan, Celah Celah, Mandolin, Raymond's Point, Fukui, Mike's Point, Barracuda Point. Over 390 species of reef-building coral, and turtles on almost every site. Visibility along the walls is around 30 metres, over 40 on the best days; nearer the mainland it runs about 20. The water sits at 28 °C year round, so a 3 mm full wetsuit is enough. Gloves and knives are banned inside the park. Dive insurance and a dive computer are mandatory. The recompression chamber is in Manado, less than two hours away.
Dining
The restaurant is built the traditional way from local materials, with views over the beach and the pool. Drinks other than water, tea and local coffee are charged separately. During the day the bar serves free tea and coffee and puts out cookies and pastries.
Beyond diving
The reef starts almost at the shore and slopes gently to about five metres before the wall drops away. Tides on Siladen are large — between one and a half and three metres. Snorkelling boats leave twice a day with the divers, the night trip at 17:45. All the spa therapists are women, and the oils are blended in Bali.

Prices per villa per night in euro, full board: three meals a day with water, local coffee and tea. Other beverages are not included. Wi-Fi and 21 % local taxes are included. The round-trip airport transfer is charged separately, minimum two people. The Bunaken marine park entry fee is not included. The water stays around 28 °C all year and the air around 30 °C; the time zone is GMT+8. Visibility along the walls is usually about 30 metres. The dry season runs April to November. Check-in from 15:00, check-out by 10:00, and the resort is non-smoking. A 30 % deposit confirms a booking, with full payment 45 days before arrival.
Getting there
Fly to Manado — Sam Ratulangi international airport (MDC) in northern Sulawesi, 16.7 km from the coast. Guests are met at the airport; the rest is by car and boat, about an hour and a half in all. The transfer is charged separately and booked for two people minimum.
The resort sits inside Bunaken National Marine Park, so the park entry fee is payable separately — it is not part of the room rate.
Sockets are European two-round-pin, 220 V; the resort has no adapters. The recompression chamber is in Manado, less than two hours away. The resort asks guests to bring reef-safe sunscreen and not to sunbathe topless.
