Aqaba is Jordan’s only piece of coast. The reef begins right at the waterline and runs more than twenty-five kilometres south to the Saudi border; there are no offshore reefs at all. A hundred metres from the beach the bottom already drops to fifty metres and beyond, so a dive here starts the moment you step into the water.
Aqaba Adventure Divers was founded in 2004 by two brothers as a small family centre. Over time it grew into a full PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Resort with courses, guided dives, snorkelling and its own accommodation. In 2014 one of the brothers moved abroad and the next generation took over — a father and son. Twenty years on, the approach has not changed.
The resort stands on the hills of South Beach, in the diving centres area, about fifteen minutes from the centre of Aqaba. The terraces look out over the Red Sea towards four countries at once — Jordan, Egypt, Israel and Saudi Arabia. Fifteen rooms are set around the pool, some of them with a sea view.
There are two kinds of diving. From shore — the centre collects guests from town or from their hotel free of charge, drives them to the site, and the dive runs straight off the water’s edge; groups are small, a maximum of four divers per guide. From the boat — a 24-metre vessel for fifty people with a freshwater shower, a saloon, a kitchen, two cabins, a large sun deck and a dive deck; boat trips run a maximum of five divers per guide and include a full lunch on board.
The Aqaba sites are the Cedar Pride, a Lebanese freighter on the reef since 1985; the Hercules C-130 lying on the sand beside coral gardens; the Underwater Military Museum with tanks, a helicopter and military vehicles; the TriStar, a scuttled airliner; the M42 tank by the Seven Sisters reef; and the deep technical wrecks Tayoung and Al Shorouk. The Aqaba Marine Park runs about seven kilometres along the southern coast.
The centre is a co-founder of the Aqaba Diving Association, runs clean-up dives every week, and recycles its washing water to irrigate the plants. Clean-up dives are free for guests.
No markup
You pay exactly the rate the resort publishes. On top of that, only the actual bank costs of currency conversion and the international transfer — no commission of ours.
We run the deal
Correspondence with the resort, holding the room, the contract, booking confirmation and all paperwork are on our side. There is nothing for you to arrange yourself.
Card payment
We accept payment by card through Stripe and issue an invoice. The transfer to the resort is our job — you do not have to find a way to pay abroad.
Support all the way
We help you choose the room and dates, work out the dive package, answer questions about flights and gear, and stay in touch until you are home.
The exact amount is confirmed when we hold your booking: it includes the resort's rate at the day's exchange rate plus the actual transfer costs. No hidden fees.
The stay-and-dive packages include a meet at Aqaba International Airport and a transfer to the resort.
For day trips the centre collects guests from town or from their hotel free of charge and brings them back
