37.8 m · 20 guests · 10 cabins · 8 crew members
Turks & Caicos Explorer II is a 38-metre all-aluminium yacht operated by Explorer Ventures, built by Swiftships and fully rebuilt around diving. Ten cabins across three decks take up to 20 guests, looked after by a crew of 8. She carries Naiad stabilisers and a heavy keel, which tells on the runs between Providenciales, West Caicos and French Cay and on the longer open-ocean passages.
A week aboard means 5.5 diving days, up to five dives daily and up to 27 dives per trip, night dives included. The dive deck fills the whole after part of the main deck: individual gear lockers, a camera table with charging station, air and nitrox filling stations, separate freshwater rinse baths for gear and for cameras, a wetsuit hanging area, freshwater showers and its own head. Entries are giant-stride from the vessel herself and exits are up two ladders on the stern platform; the inflatables are there to move guests and pick divers up, not as dive tenders.
All ten cabins have individual climate control, a window or port lights and a private ensuite with shower. Two VIP cabins sit on the upper (boat) deck, five on the main deck, and three lower-deck cabins have upper and lower bunks. The main deck holds the air-conditioned salon with dining tables, TV and a video library; above it are a sun deck with loungers and an awning-covered flybridge with barbecue, wet bar and seating for 12 to 15.
The galley mixes locally inspired recipes, American favourites and the chef’s own creations, with fresh baking between dives. All drinks, beer, wine and spirits included, served once the day’s diving is done. The vessel is Green Fins certified as an eco-liveaboard.
From January to April she repositions to the Silver Bank north of the Dominican Republic for a separate humpback whale snorkelling programme — no scuba on those trips, and no Turks and Caicos dive departures during those months.

On Board
Diving on board
An Open Water certification from a recognised agency is required. Maximum depth is 40 m (33 m on nitrox) and decompression diving is not permitted. Rebreathers, diver propulsion vehicles and multi-cylinder configurations are not accepted aboard, apart from a small pony bottle. Divers under 18 must carry insurance covering chamber treatment and evacuation. The crew speaks English.
Food and drinks
Alcohol is served once the day's diving is finished, and guests under 21 are not served. Friday dinner is ashore at your own expense; the crew arranges transport to the restaurant. Tell us about dietary requirements when booking: the vessel has a single galley, so cross-contact with allergens cannot be ruled out entirely.

Schedule & Pricing
Turks and Caicos — Providenciales, West Caicos and French Cay
The vessel's regular route, starting and finishing in Providenciales (Caicos Marina & Shipyard). Boarding from 15:00 on Saturday; Sunday brings four or five dives at Provo's Northwest Point, Monday two morning dives there and a two-hour run to West Caicos, Tuesday up to five dives at West Caicos, Wednesday two dives and the crossing to French Cay, Thursday five dives at French Cay, Friday a dawn dive and a morning dive before the run back to port and dinner ashore. These are the walls of the world's third-largest barrier reef: huge barrel sponges, gorgonian fans, hard-coral arches and sand chutes dropping into the blue. Caribbean reef sharks on almost every dive, plus nurse sharks, eagle rays, turtles and big groupers; hammerheads and dolphins now and then. Visibility usually 23–45 m, water 22–28 °C. French Cay and West Sand Spit are weather permitting. Grand Turk, Salt Cay and South Caicos are available on full-charter itineraries only.
