Turks and Caicos Aggressor II is a 36.6-metre (120-foot) steel yacht purpose-built for diving. She carries 18 guests in 9 cabins with a crew of 6, and she runs two completely different programmes — a choice worth making deliberately.
From April to December the yacht runs week-long charters around the Turks and Caicos out of Providenciales, known locally as “Provo”. This is classic Caribbean wall diving: the reef breaks at around 12 metres and drops straight into the blue, the wall cut with crevasses and ledges carrying huge orange elephant-ear sponges, purple gorgonians and crimson rope sponges. Over the week the yacht works three areas — Northwest Point off Provo itself, West Caicos and French Cay. Regulars on the wall are reef sharks and nurse sharks, turtles, eagle rays, grouper, snapper and lobster. Up to five dives a day including night dives, 24–27 dives over a charter.
From January to April the yacht moves to the Dominican Republic and the Silver Bank — and this is not diving at all. The Silver Bank is the designated Sanctuary for the Marine Mammals of the Dominican Republic: every winter thousands of North Atlantic humpback whales gather here to court, mate, calve and rear their young, with 5,000–7,000 animals on the bank at peak season. Sanctuary rules ban scuba and rebreathers — whales read bubbles as aggression — so all in-water encounters are snorkel only. No dive certification is needed for this itinerary. Whale runs go out on two aluminium tenders holding 11 guests each, twice a day for one and a half to three hours. Drones are also prohibited on the Silver Bank.
All nine cabins are on the lower deck, each with individually controlled air conditioning, a TV with media player, a hairdryer and a porthole. The master stateroom with a queen bed and the six deluxe staterooms have their own head and shower. The two twin staterooms share one bathroom between them — a detail that often gets reported incorrectly.
Common areas: an air-conditioned salon and dining area, an outdoor dining deck, and a sun deck with a hot tub, loungers, a shaded cocktail area, a wet bar and a grill. There is a photo centre with an editing computer, a camera table with low-pressure hoses, a separate rinse for underwater gear and a charging station. Power is 110 V with US-style type A/B sockets.
Boarding is on Saturday, check-out the following Saturday by 8 a.m. On the Turks and Caicos itinerary airport transfers on embarkation and disembarkation days are included in the fare; on the Dominican Republic charters transfers are paid separately.

On Board
Diving on board
All of this applies to the Turks and Caicos itinerary. On Silver Bank charters diving is prohibited by sanctuary rules — no scuba, no rebreathers, all whale encounters are snorkel only. For the Turks and Caicos itinerary a certification card and a dive computer are mandatory for every guest, and everyone needs a mask, fins, snorkel, regulator with pressure gauge and BCD, owned or rented. Depth range 11–40 metres and all dives are planned as no-decompression dives. Water is 25–29 °C, a 1–3 mm suit is right year-round and many guests prefer 5 mm in January and February. The nearest recompression chamber is on Providenciales. Turks and Caicos conservation law prohibits spearfishing and collecting of any kind.
Dining
Dinner on the final evening is not served on board — it is the only meal not covered by the fare. The yacht is already back in port, the crew hosts a sunset cocktail party, and guests eat ashore at their own expense. At Turtle Cove on Providenciales there are five restaurants within walking distance and the crew will help with reservations. Spirits are not sold on board because of high import duty, so bring your own from duty free. Note any dietary requirements in the GIS form in advance and talk to the chef on day one: because of how remote these areas are, not every speciality item can be sourced.

Providenciales, West Caicos and French Cay (Providenciales — Providenciales)
The yacht's main itinerary: April to December, Saturday to Saturday, out of Providenciales and back. Boarding from 3 p.m., briefing that evening, first dive on Sunday morning. Over the week the yacht works three areas — Northwest Point off Provo itself, West Caicos and French Cay. The wall starts at around 12 metres and drops vertically; its ledges carry orange elephant-ear sponges, gorgonians and crimson rope sponges, reef sharks and eagle rays and turtles pass in the blue, and lobster and grouper shelter underneath. The captain picks the order of sites by the wind. Up to five dives a day including night dives, all straight off the stern platform. On Friday, after the morning dives, the yacht is back in Provo around noon, leaving time ashore, then a sunset cocktail party and dinner at a marina restaurant at your own expense. Check-out Saturday by 8 a.m. Six- and ten-night charters are scheduled occasionally — same programme, just longer.

The yacht's winter programme, January to April. This is not diving: the rules of the Sanctuary for the Marine Mammals of the Dominican Republic prohibit scuba and rebreathers on the Silver Bank, so all in-water time is snorkelling and no dive certification is required. The port is different too — Ocean World Marina in Puerto Plata, boarding Saturday between 4 and 9.30 p.m., with the yacht leaving for the bank that evening. The Silver Bank is a shallow plateau roughly 130 km north of the Dominican Republic where thousands of North Atlantic humpbacks gather every winter. The yacht moors by the reef where the old Greek freighter Polyxeni lies aground. The week then runs like this: after breakfast, around 8.30 a.m., two tenders of 11 guests each go out for one and a half to three hours, a second run in the afternoon, and whale behaviour presentations in the evening. Encounters come in two forms — surface observation from the mothership and tenders as whales breach and tail-slap, and getting in the water with a settled whale, most often a mother with a calf. The whale decides how long it lasts, from a few minutes to an hour. Friday brings two morning runs, then the return to the marina, a cocktail party and dinner ashore at your own expense. Bring your own wetsuit — none are available on board. Drones are prohibited on the Silver Bank.
