Solitude Adventurer is a 36-metre aluminium catamaran run by Singapore-based Solitude Liveaboards and Resorts. Built in 2000 as a private yacht, she was completely converted for diving in 2017 and started cruising in late 2018. The operator calls her Indonesia’s only catamaran liveaboard carrying up to 18 guests.
Her main difference from a monohull is the beam: 12 metres across a 36-metre hull. The saloon, decks and cabins are noticeably roomier than on a boat of comparable length, the motion is gentler, and every cabin sits above the waterline — six Deluxe cabins on the upper deck, the stateroom and the quad cabin on the main deck. All of them have large windows; there is not a single porthole on board.
The itineraries cover half of Indonesia. In winter the boat works Raja Ampat and Misool: limestone islets, the coral gardens of the Dampier Strait, mantas, wobbegongs and the endemic Raja Ampat epaulette shark. Spring brings crossings through the Banda Sea to Maumere and Alor — black sand, the currents of the Pantar Strait, macro life. In summer the catamaran stays in Komodo: drift dives on the northern reefs, mantas in the southern bays and a land visit to the dragons on Rinca. Autumn is the Banda Sea, with the volcanic island of Manuk, its sea snakes, seasonal hammerheads and historic Banda Neira.
On board there is an air-conditioned saloon with a massage chair and a library, an open-air dining area, a sun deck, a bar and a barbecue. Photographers get a dedicated area: two rinse tanks for cameras only, air guns, a set-up bench on the dive deck and a digital studio with a computer for editing. Meals are served five times a day, buffet style, with biscuits and instant noodles available around the clock.
Diving is run from two 4.2-metre skiffs, so gear stays on the tenders and the deck never gets crowded. Up to four dives a day including a night dive, one guide per six divers (one per four in Komodo). Three Bauer PE300 compressors, a nitrox membrane station and an EAN 28–30 % blend chosen for a safer maximum operating depth. There are no twin sets and no rebreather support on board.

Diving on board
There are no twin sets on board, and rebreathers are accepted on full charters only, with divers bringing their own cylinders; scrubbers can be ordered with 60 days' notice or more, without any guarantee. Solo diving is not allowed even for certified divers. The first dive comes no sooner than 6 hours after arrival, and at least 18 hours must pass between the last dive and a flight. Certification card and logbook are checked at registration: the operator may refuse dive participation or suggest a refresher if skills look unsafe. Every diver needs a dive computer, an audible and a visual signalling device (whistle and SMB) and valid dive insurance. Nitrox is for certified divers only. The crew speaks English and Indonesian.
Food and drinks
A vegan menu is possible only when arranged in advance with a list of acceptable ingredients. Tell the operator about dietary requirements when booking. You may bring your own wine or spirits with no corkage charge within one person's duty-free allowance.

Komodo North & South (Labuan Bajo — Labuan Bajo)
Six nights inside Komodo National Park. Day 1 — board in Labuan Bajo and make a check dive. Day 2 — the northern and eastern reefs: coral gardens, reef sharks, mantas and schooling fish in nutrient-rich water. Day 3 — the cooler southern bays known for manta encounters and macro life, with a walk up Padar Island for the view if conditions allow. Days 4–5 — back north for drift dives at Gili Lawa Darat and Gili Lawa Laut, where strong currents gather fish and predators. Day 6 — two morning dives in central Komodo and a land excursion to Rinca to see the dragons, then the mandatory 18-hour no-fly interval. Day 7 — disembarkation and transfer to Komodo Airport.

Days 7–8 — the remote reefs of East Nusa Tenggara, where few boats go, including Serbete Reef and Tanjung Gedong. Day 9 — disembarkation at Frans Seda airport.

Day 5 — Koon Island, with drift dives along the wall among trevally, snapper, sweetlips, Napoleon wrasse and groupers. Days 6–7 — Misool. Days 8–11 — central Raja Ampat: the Fam Islands, Gam and Mansuar, wobbegongs, reef sharks and land excursions to the viewpoints. Day 12 — disembarkation in Sorong.

Twelve nights on one of the most remote routes in Indonesia: from Flores through Alor and the Forgotten Islands into the Banda Sea. The boat crosses areas that see only a handful of liveaboards a year — the reefs of northern Flores, the currents of the Pantar Strait, the seldom-visited islands of East Nusa Tenggara and the volcanic walls of the Banda Sea. The operator publishes no day-by-day plan for this one: the exact sites depend on weather and currents, and the cruise director decides on board. Boarding in Maumere, disembarkation in Ambon.

Once a year the boat leaves her winter base in Raja Ampat for the spring season around Flores, and later sails back through the Banda Sea. These are the longest trips on the schedule — 12 and 14 nights — boarding in Sorong and disembarking in Maumere. Misool, the Banda Islands, the volcanic islands of the Banda Sea and the rarely visited reefs of East Nusa Tenggara all fall along the way. There is no separate day-by-day programme for these crossings.
