Sulu Sea Expedition — scientific research and diving

A specialized expedition combining diving with scientific research. Participants assist scientists from the LAMAVE organization in studying marine megafauna in little-explored reef systems and can observe shark tagging. LAMAVE is a major non-governmental organization studying whales, sharks, mantas, and mobula rays. The route goes from Dumaguete through Cagayan Island, Cagayancillo Island, Cavili Island, and Arena Reef. Shore excursions are planned on Cagayancillo Island, and rare bird watching on Cavili Island. Scientific presentations on satellite telemetry and marine conservation complement the program.
