1 / 1
A safari between the islands of Sulawesi and Halmahera, starting from Bitung port on Sulawesi and ending in Tobelo or Ternate on Halmahera. The route passes through Lembeh Strait — the world capital of macro diving — and continues east to the little-explored islands of the Moluccan archipelago. Maju and Gerda islands are known for pelagic inhabitants. At Pulau Salangadeke, whale sharks and mantas are encountered. Doi Island is famous for reefs, walls, and a scenic waterfall. Morotai Island attracts with currents and WWII wrecks. Galela Bay surprises with underwater volcanoes and soft coral gardens. The route combines Lembeh’s macro diving with expedition diving on Halmahera’s virgin reefs.
