Southern Leyte — whale sharks in Sogod Bay

Southern Leyte province is located in the Eastern Visayas region at the southern tip of Leyte Island. Every year, large numbers of whale sharks come to Sogod Bay to feed on plankton. Coral reefs around the islands of Leyte and Limasawa complement the program with diverse dives. Limasawa Island is a historic site where the first Catholic mass in the Philippines was held in 1521. Dive sites Gunter’s Wall, Crocodile Rocks, Napantaw, and San Ricardo offer walls, slopes, and reef systems. The program includes night dives and six days of diving.
