The route covers the limestone cliffs of Phi Phi and two legendary open-sea underwater reefs — Hin Daeng and Hin Muang. The Phi Phi Islands are about three hours from Phuket and are known for diverse reef fauna among vertical limestone walls.
Hin Daeng (“Red Rock”) is an underwater pinnacle with sheer walls down to 35 meters, covered in soft corals. Grey reef sharks, manta rays, and in season — whale sharks — regularly appear here. Hin Muang (“Purple Rock”) is a fully submerged reef about 200 meters long, dropping to 70 meters depth. The walls are covered in purple soft corals, with schools of barracuda and trevally passing through the blue water. Currents at both sites can be strong, attracting large pelagics.
