Layang-Layang Atoll (Swallow Reef) is located approximately 300 km from Kota Kinabalu in the South China Sea, within the Spratly Archipelago. The crossing to the atoll takes about 17 hours. The reef walls drop vertically into the abyss, creating ideal conditions for encountering pelagic inhabitants.

Dive sites include Crack Reef, Dog Tooth Lair, D’Wall, Navigator’s Lane, Snapper’s Ledge, Wrasse Strip, Gorgonian Forest, Shark’s Cave, The Runway, The Valley, and Wreck Point. Currents range from moderate to strong. High probability of encountering whale sharks and hammerhead sharks, as well as whitetip and grey reef sharks.
