Gaafu Dhaalu (South Huvadhoo) is the southern half of the massive Huvadhoo Atoll — the largest atoll in the Maldives and one of the largest in the world. The atoll’s wide channels create powerful currents that attract grey reef sharks, hammerheads, and occasionally whale sharks.
Diving here is characterized by deep channel drifts, pristine outer walls, and lagoon thilas with rich soft coral growth. The atoll is far from the main tourist centers, providing a sense of true remoteness. Combined with nearby Gaafu Alifu, this forms one of the most comprehensive southern Maldives diving experiences.
