A specialized route focused on finding whale sharks — the largest fish on the planet. Like the manta route, this is an adaptive safari: the crew coordinates with other yachts and selects the optimal zone in real time — Baa Atoll with Hanifaru Bay or South Ari, where whale sharks feed on plankton along the western reef edge.
Whale sharks in the Maldives are a resident population encountered year-round, but with distinct seasonality. At South Ari, peak encounters occur during the northeast monsoon (December–April) when sharks concentrate near the surface. At Hanifaru, whale sharks appear during the southwest monsoon season (May–November) alongside mantas. Besides targeted whale shark encounters, the program includes full diving on thilas and in channels.
