The Daedalus — Rocky — Elba Reef safari departs from Port Ghalib and includes visits to Daedalus Reef, Rocky and Zabargad islands, and Elba Reef near the Sudanese border. One of the longest southern routes, covering remote and pristine reefs.
Daedalus Reef is an oval reef with a lighthouse, Egypt’s most remote offshore reef. Steep walls, plateaus with hammerhead sharks on morning dives. Rocky Island is a rocky island in the open sea with sheer walls and strong currents attracting large pelagics. Zabargad is an island with scenic underwater landscapes and a historic wreck.
Elba Reef is a reef system near the Sudanese border, one of Egypt’s most remote and least-visited. Pristine corals, encounters with sharks and large fish. The route may also include Elphinstone and St. Johns reefs depending on weather conditions.
