Infiniti is a 39-metre steel yacht run by the Philippine operator Atlantis Dive Resorts, built in Thailand in 2013 specifically for diving. For its first years the vessel worked the Andaman Islands; after moving to the Philippines it sails out of Dauin near Dumaguete across the Visayas, and once a year heads for the Tubbataha marine park. Eleven cabins on three decks take up to 25 guests, and the yacht is RINA-classed for unrestricted open-sea navigation.
There is plenty of diving: five dives a day including a night dive, all from zodiacs rather than off the transom. The dive deck is roomy, everyone gets their own gear station, and there are hot showers on the aft platform. Air and nitrox come from three 250 lpm Bauer compressors and a Nuvair membrane system, with twelve cascade tanks in storage. A dedicated camera room with charging stations, counter space and shelves is a rarity even on larger vessels.
The cabins have been renovated: six Premium Deluxe on the main and upper decks with large opening windows, two Deluxe Twin and three Deluxe Triple on the lower deck with portholes. All have individually controlled air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, a safe, a hairdryer and an en-suite bathroom with a hot shower.
The kitchen is the same one that made the Atlantis restaurants famous: everything is cooked on board, the snack bar is open all day, there is a beach BBQ, buffet service, and both Western and Filipino dishes. All drinks — including beer, wine and local rum — are included, and you may bring your own with no corkage fee. The crew speaks English and Russian.
Diver requirements: minimum age 15, Advanced Open Water certification and 25 logged dives. Personal dive accident insurance is mandatory.

You pay the rate the operator publishes. The only thing added on top is the actual payment processing cost — no fee of ours.

Visayas North (Dauin — Dauin)
The northern Visayas run: from Dumaguete via Pamilacan and Anda on Bohol into Sogod Bay, then on to Malapascua for thresher sharks at Kimud Shoal, through Gato Island with its through-tunnel, and finally the lighthouse islet of Capitancillo. A mix of macro, gorgonian walls and a real chance of big pelagics. Boarding at 4 pm in Dauin, disembarkation at 7 am.

The southern Visayas run: Pamilacan, Cabilao with some of the best hard coral in the Philippines, Oslob for whale sharks and white-sand Sumilon, then Siquijor and the Apo Island marine sanctuary with its turtles and reef sharks. It ends on the black volcanic sand of Dauin — a macro paradise of flamboyant cuttlefish, blue-ringed octopus and seahorses.

The western run takes in Cebu's showpiece sites: the year-round Moalboal sardine run and the caverns of Pescador Island, then Kimud Shoal and Gato near Malapascua for thresher sharks and reef sharks resting in caves, Cabilao, Panglao on Bohol with its jackfish schools and mandarinfish night dives, finishing with the whale sharks of Oslob and the reefs of Sumilon.

The flagship dive route of the Philippines and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tubbataha lies 100 miles offshore in the middle of the Sulu Sea, reachable only by liveaboard and only from March to June — the rest of the year the park is closed and patrolled by rangers. The North and South Atolls plus Jessie Beazley Reef offer sheer walls, 30-metre-plus visibility, grey reef and whitetip sharks, mantas, schooling jacks and barracuda, and turtles. Departures and returns are from Puerto Princesa on Palawan. The marine park fee is paid separately.
