1 / 1
A combined diving safari visiting two key Mexican locations. The remote, wild Socorro Island is rightfully called the “Mexican Galapagos” due to the abundance of large marine animals. The archipelago lies in the Pacific Ocean, 250 miles south of the Baja Peninsula, and consists of four islands: San Benedicto, Socorro, Roca Partida, and Clarion. Seven shark species, giant mantas, tuna, dolphins, and humpback whales inhabit these waters. Magdalena Bay is a 50 km long bay on the western coast of the Baja Peninsula. In November, millions of sardines rise to the surface in massive bait balls, attracting up to 50 striped marlins simultaneously. The route includes a visit to the Thetis underwater seamount, remnants of a WWI submarine, and the wreck of the SS Independence.
