Sipadan Island — the peak of an extinct underwater volcano off the coast of Borneo — is one of the world’s most famous diving destinations. The diverse underwater terrain includes sandy beaches, coral gardens, scenic plateaus dropping to 60 meters depth, and walls with strong currents.
The route covers three islands — Sipadan, Kapalai, and Mabul. Sipadan is home to 7 shark species, mantas, giant turtles, and rare fish species. Departure from Semporna port by yacht. Night and sunset dives in the Sipadan reserve are prohibited. Every November, the island closes for a month to allow marine environment recovery.
