Huvadhoo (Gaafu) is one of the world’s largest and deepest atolls, located 400 km south of Male and just 20 km north of the equator. The atoll covers approximately 2,900 square kilometers, of which only about twenty islands are inhabited. Most of the territory is a national reserve with minimal human impact.
Diving at Huvadhoo features pristine underwater landscapes: channels with strong currents, sheer walls, caves, and overhangs covered in soft corals. Marine life is exceptionally diverse — sharks of several species, manta rays, eagle rays, sea turtles, and dolphins. The distance from the capital means dive sites here are significantly less crowded than on the central atolls.
