The Far North route is an expedition through the northern atolls of the Maldives, accessible to divers exclusively during liveaboard trips. Lhaviyani, Baa, Noonu, Shaviyani, and Haa Dhaalu — these atolls are far from Male’s tourist infrastructure, and diving here retains its pristine character. The route includes dives on coral gardens, wrecks, and thilas, as well as encounters with large pelagics.
At Lhaviyani Atoll, key sites include Kuredu Express and Fushifaru Thila, as well as Shipyard — a site with two sunken Japanese fishing vessels. At Baa Atoll — coral gardens and seasonal manta ray encounters. During the southwest monsoon (May–July) the probability of encountering mantas and whale sharks is highest. The northern atolls offer a rare opportunity in the Maldives — dives at sites with virtually no other divers.
