Egypt — Sudan Deep South

Sudan · 13 nights

A two-week expedition departing from Marsa Alam, Egypt, to Sudan’s far southern reefs near the Eritrean border. The route passes through the historic port of Suakin and covers extensive reef systems of both countries.

The program includes Egyptian dive sites Fury Shoal and St. John, then Sudanese sites — the Umbria and Wingate wrecks, Sanganeb Reef, Sha’ab Rumi, Angarosh, Abu Fanadir, White Rock, and southern Dahret Abid. April and May are optimal for this route due to minimal storm activity and long daylight hours ensuring safe navigation through numerous reefs.

What You'll See

Starting from Egypt — diving in two countries in one expedition
Fury Shoal and St. John — the best reefs of southern Egypt
Dahret Abid — southernmost point, 13 km from the Eritrean border
Angarosh — the 'Mother of Sharks' of the Sudanese Red Sea
Sha'ab Rumi — Cousteau's Precontinent II underwater station
Umbria wreck — the famous sunken Italian ship
