The Deep South route ventures to the most remote southern atolls of the Maldives — Huvadhoo, Addu, and Fuvahmulah. These atolls see far fewer visitors than the central routes, and the diving reflects it: pristine channels, untouched thilas, and encounters with pelagic species that are rarer further north.
Fuvahmulah is particularly notable as an isolated oceanic island with consistent tiger shark, thresher shark, and hammerhead encounters. The deep channels of Huvadhoo attract grey reef sharks and mantas. Addu Atoll, the southernmost point of the Maldives, offers a WWII British wreck and unique reef formations. An expedition route for experienced divers.
