A classic route through the northern Red Sea from Hurghada, combining coral reef dives and historic wreck dives. An ideal choice for a first safari — the route is diverse and suits divers of varying experience levels.
The route begins at Shaab El Erg reefs, where bottlenose dolphins can be encountered, and continues to Abu Nuhas — the “ship graveyard” with four wrecks: Giannis D, Carnatic, Chrisoula K, and Seastar. Each wreck is a separate story and world, encrusted with corals and inhabited by marine life.
The highlight of the route is SS Thistlegorm, a British WWII transport vessel lying at 30 meters depth. The holds still contain motorcycles, trucks, and ammunition. The route concludes at the Ras Mohammed marine reserve — Shark Reef and Yolanda Reef with their sheer walls, currents, and schools of pelagic fish.
