Diving on the Borneo and West Sulawesi route

An expedition route through the Makassar Strait from Palu port on Sulawesi’s west coast to Tarakan port on Borneo’s northeast coast. The twelve-day safari passes through some of Indonesia’s richest dive sites — the Derawan Archipelago. Sangalaki Island is famous for schools of manta rays. Derawan is a paradise for macro photographers with nudibranchs, seahorses, and cuttlefish. Maratua Atoll attracts sharks, barracudas, and mantas on its outer walls. Kakaban Island is unique for its saltwater lake with stingless jellyfish and sheer coral walls. Samama is known for rare micro-creatures in the shallows.
