Apo Reef and Coron

Philippines · 7 nights
Apo Reef and Coron — wreck diving and coral reefs, Philippines

A route for wreck diving enthusiasts and pristine coral reef lovers. In Coron Bay lie Japanese ships from World War II, sunk in 1944: cargo holds and passages are covered with corals and populated by marine life. The wrecks Okikawa Maru, Akitsushima, and Tangat Gunboat rank among Southeast Asia’s finest. Apo Reef Natural Park is the world’s second-largest continuous coral reef after the Great Barrier Reef. The northern and southwestern sections abound with sharks, barracudas, and large reef fish. Dive sites Shark Ridge, The Channel, and Hunters Rock round out the program, while an excursion to Kayangan Lake and Maquinit Hot Springs adds topside experiences.
