Alor Archipelago

Indonesia · 7–10 nights
Coral reefs of the Alor Archipelago

The Alor Archipelago — the eastern edge of the Lesser Sunda Islands, one of Indonesia’s least-explored dive destinations. The islands of Alor and Wetar are surrounded by sheer walls dropping hundreds of meters, underwater volcanoes, and pristine coral gardens. Visibility here reaches 50 meters and water temperature stays around 28°C — conditions hard to find elsewhere in Indonesia. Diving at Alor combines thrilling drift dives in currents with delicate macro diving. The walls are home to cuttlefish, frogfish, and diverse nudibranchs. In the blue water, trevallies, barracudas, and occasionally manta rays patrol. Night dives reveal a completely different world — Spanish dancers, bobtail squid, and hunting moray eels. Current diving experience is required.
