An expedition to Aldabra Atoll — the jewel of the Seychelles and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This remote atoll of approximately 150 sq. km has virtually no permanent population except research station staff. The route covers several atolls: Cosmoledo, Aldabra, Assumption, and Astove.
Drift diving in the atoll channels requires experience — currents here are strong and unpredictable. Dive sites include the channels Passe Dubois, Polymnie, Anse Var, the Main Channel at Aldabra, Cosmoledo reefs, and the coral wall of Astove. On land — the world’s largest population of giant tortoises (over 152,000 individuals), colonies of rare seabirds, and endemic species. Hammerhead sharks are found in the lagoon, and green sea turtles nest on the beaches.
